About Sylvie

Hi, I’m Sylvie.

I help postpartum women reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and reclaim the parts of themselves that motherhood tried to flatten. This includes pleasure, identity, energy, and confidence. Not so you can “bounce back,” but so you can feel at home in your own skin again—maybe for the first time.

I’m a certified Holistic Pelvic Health Specialist, STREAM practitioner, sexological bodyworker, lactation educator, performance hypnosis guide, and somatic coach. I have also done Dona’s doula training course, though I don’t work as a doula.

I’ve spent over a decade studying pelvic wellness, scar tissue remediation, biomechanics, emotional health, and functional recovery. My work combines evidence-based approaches with body-based healing and practical support for the reality of life after birth.

This work is also very personal for me. I got into it BECAUSE of what I went through postpartum with my first and second births (and through 2 miscarriages too).

My first birth resulted in Diastasis Recti and an abdominal hernia, painful intercourse and moderate urinary incontinence.

I nearly died after my second birth—and no one knew how to put me back together.

After my second birth, I nearly died. I lost litres of blood, and was anemic for several months. My baby had a tongue tie and feeding was absolute agony. My body felt completely shut down. I was exhausted, raw, and disconnected from everything…my partner, my pleasure, my sense of who I was. Sometimes even my baby.

Everyone I turned to had some of what I needed: the doula, the lactation consultant, the pelvic floor physio (ironically, not my OB!). But no one had the whole picture. No one understood how everything was connected or how to treat me as a whole person.

As a former investigative journalist, I went on a research quest to track down every missing piece of my healing for myself. And in the process I built the map I so desperately needed.

Now I share that map with other women, because I know how isolating postpartum can be, and how much courage it takes to ask for help when you’re barely keeping your head above water.

Why This Isn’t Just Another Postpartum Program

My approach is different. Rather than “fixing you”, I create a collaborative space where you can explore your boundaries, desires, and possibilities. My work is client-led, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that pleasure and empowerment go hand in hand.

Every session is tailored to your needs, whether that’s healing from trauma, rediscovering pleasure, or deepening your connection with yourself, your baby or a partner.

As a mother, I also understand the complexities of navigating intimacy and connection after childbirth while balancing the demands of parenting. This perspective allows me to bring compassion and practical insight to my work with clients facing similar challenges.

I believe that our bodies hold the keys to healing and transformation. If you’re ready to explore what’s possible for you, let’s connect.

My Approach: The Four Domains of Health

As a STREAM practitioner, I work across four interconnected areas of healing and recovery:

Biochemistry:

Hormones, nutrition, nervous system regulation. This is the internal chemistry that affects everything from energy to mood to healing capacity. In practical terms, it means optimizing what you eat, when, and what supplements or herbs can help. It also means tracking things like your glucose spikes, and figuring out what to do to bring your hormones into homeostasis.

Biomechanics:

Movement patterns, posture, pelvic alignment. This is how your body moves and holds itself in space, and how birth may have changed that. Practically, this means learning exercises and movements that support and heal your postpartum pelvis, bringing your core muscles back online, learning to activate and relax, breathe in a way that delivers more oxygen and freedom. It means dealing with any lingering pain, whether that’s in your pelvis, your back or your neck/shoulders. We also examine your breastfeeding posture and optimal exercises for your particular needs.

Scar Tissue:

Physical tension, adhesions and recovery from birth injuries are the body’s way of healing that sometimes needs a bit of guidance. Whether you have a tear from vaginal birth, or a C-Section scar, internal scarring from D&Cs or vacuum/forceps, or even previous scarring, these take a toll and need to be addressed before they impact the rest of your biomechanics. Some women live with pain for years that could be alleviated from some simple scar tissue work.

Emotions:

Identity shifts, body image, intimacy… the invisible load of motherhood. Your mind and your body aren’t separate entities, they are intricately connected, and your emotions deeply matter to your healing.
Whether you’re dealing with exhaustion, pain, lost libido, resentment, feeling completely touched out, or just have that vague sense of “I don’t recognise myself anymore,” we start where you are. And we get you to where you want to be.
No to “Bouncing Back”, Yes to Feeling Good Again.

I don’t care for programs that try to sell you on squeezing back into pre-pregnancy jeans or pushing through pain to feel “normal” again. I don’t think postpartum is a one-size-fits-all journey. But I do know, from experience, that it’s about slowing down, listening to what your body is telling you, and finding your way back to connection, to yourself, to your partner or your friends and your own life. On your own terms. In your own time.

I deliver care to you holistically, head to toe. You deserve to be supported completely, not piecemeal. In my space, you will never be dismissed or gaslit. Your concerns and feelings are real and will be treated with compassion and care. You deserve to feel bloody good in your body again. Functional, yes, but way more than that…. alive!

If you’re ready to get your life back to a place that feels great, I’d be honoured to support you.
